Extra Curricular Auditions for the 20-21 Year
Auditions for all Extra Curricular Ensembles will happen in the fall of 2020 for the school year. Remember that all participants must be enrolled in a performance based class (Choir or Band) to be eligible to audition for any Extra Curricular Choir. Vocal Jazz Audition and Callback Information
The audition and callback for both In The Mix and Spotlight are the same! Everyone involved in the vocal jazz program re-auditions each year. The audition and callback music is posted below, both are excerpts from the same piece, Love Psalm by Darmon Meader. The audition excerpt is measures 9-16 and you will also sing a blues scale and a chromatic scale for your audition. The callback excerpt is measures 17-24. You choose whatever voice part fits your voice the best, but your voice part is subject to change in the ensemble. In the event there is a split in the voice part you chose, choose whichever one fits your voice the best. If you have any questions, email cking@sd308.org. Danger Tones/Nothing But Treble Audition and Callback Information
The audition for both Danger Tones and Nothing But Treble are the same! The audition consists of singing a verse and chorus of any song you feel shows off your voice the best! You will also sing a major scale and a harmonic minor scale. Callbacks pieces for both groups are listed below. If you are called back for either Danger Tones or Nothing But Treble, the voice part you should learn will be listed next to your name. For callbacks, all returning members of the ensemble will be singing with you.
Danger Tones Callback - "The Longest Time" measures 25-65 (the downbeat) with no repeats.
Nothing But Treble Callback - "Electric Love" measures 51 to the end.
