ILMEA is organizing a response to help those families around the state that have been directly affected by the devastating storms of this past weekend. As we are a music group, we will be accepting cash donations at Saturday's festival that will go DIRECTLY to helping those families whose lives have so drastically been altered by these events to purchase new musical instruments or musical supplies. Also, we will be accepting donations of musical instruments and supplies to give directly to those in need. Mr. Barsch will be collecting these donations and items until Friday and taking them with me to the Festival on Saturday.
As a professional music organization, we positively impact a great many people though our many efforts during the year. This donation effort is an important way that we can help those who are struggling and hurting on many different levels right now. Music is often ultimately a healing activity in times like this, so the more viable support that we can provide as fast as possible, the better we can help these affected families and students.
